How to Reach:

One can board a flight to the Istanbul Atatürk Airport (IST) from Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Delhi, and reach Turkey in 9 to 13 hours, depending on the airline. A direct India to Turkey flight takes less time, while a connecting flight delays 2 or 3 hours.

  • Wake up in the morning, have a hearty breakfast and get ready for a full day city tour.
  • Begin your tour by visiting the heart of old Istanbul, Hagia Sophia - a museum famed for its mosaics, including glittering portraits of emperors and empresses and a poignant Virgin and Child
  • Next, visit the Blue Mosque, the only imperial mosque with six minarets. Its courtyard is especially grand. The Hippodrome, the stadium of ancient Byzantium, held 100,000 spectators and featured objects from all corners of the empire. Of these, an Egyptian obelisk and a bronze sculpture of three entwined serpents from Delphi survive. 
  • Wander through the Grand Bazaar in the old city with 4,000 shops full of treasures including carpets and kilims, silks, jewelry, ceramics, icons and leather goods. 
  • Visit Topkapi Palace, the great palace of the Ottoman sultans from the 15th to the 19th centuries, housing an exquisite collection of precious gems, jewelry thrones of sultans, robes worn by the sultans and their families, miniatures, the Holy Mantle and the Chamber of Sacred Relics.

  • Explore the natural landscape of limpid pools, hot springs and travertine, terraces of carbonate minerals left by flowing water. 
  • Inscribed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1988, Pamukkale attracts some 2 million visitors every year. Get a view of the terraces from the hills on the opposite side of the valley in the town of Denizli.
  • Further, move towards the ruins of the ancient Greek-Roman city of Hierapolis, built on top of the “Cotton Castles” in the 2nd century BC. See the remains of the Roman amphitheater, and visit the former Turkish Bath, now converted to an archaeological museum.
  • Discover where Cleopatra used to swim, and the monumental tomb of the Christian apostle St. Philippe. Marvel at the Necropolis of Anatolia, filled with sarcophagi, most notably that of Marcus Aurelius Ammianos.
  • After exploring the Pamukkale, return back to your hotel and enjoy an overnight stay in Kusadasi.

  • Wake up in the morning, have a healthy breakfast and head out on the drive to Ephesus-Selcuk. Ephesus is considered one of the most spectacular open-air museums in the world, and certainly a highlight of any visit to Turkey.
  • Walk through the 2,000-year-old marble streets of the ancient city admiring the Library of Celsius, Hadrian's Temple, the Fountains of Trajan, the temples of Hadrian and Domitian, and many more.
  • Visit the terrace houses, featuring beautiful frescoes and mosaics in their interiors located on the slopes of Bulbul Mountain, opposite the Hadrian Temple.
  • After visiting the Ephesus ruins, you’ll continue on to the House of the Virgin Mary. The Vatican has recognized this small house in the Solmissos Mountains as the final resting place of the Virgin Mary. A small shrine dedicated to St. Mary was found when the ruins of the house were first discovered.
  • Finally, visit the Basilica of St. John, built by the Emperor Justinian over the tomb of St. John the Apostle. 
  • After exploring Ephesus, get transferred to Izmir Airport to board a flight to Kayseri.
