This is one of the best watersport activity to take part and enjoyed with family and friends, My kids enjoyed this, the company we booked provided us with good kayak boat and paddle along with safety life-jackets to make sure we are safe... This activity doesn't need prior experience as it is suited for beginners as well... the staff was helpful always there with us the entire activity in-case for any emergency required...     • Mysore is a place with hefty traffic. People drive here crazily. So, ensure that you watch carefully before taking a step forward. Some motorcycle driver may hit you even when you are standing stationary. Do watch out for that!

    • Avoid eating the food at the road site joints. One it is not healthy and two it is not hygienic at all.

    • Check for the seal of the water bottle before buying it.

    • Dasara festival is very popular in Mysore. However, you need to be extra careful during this time. A lot of thefts are common during this time. Whenever, you go to a pandal or any crowded place, make sure you keep your wallet safe and secure.

    • Always keep with you a photocopy of an ID proof.

    • Keep all your documents and their photo copy at two different places.

    • Never, go in secluded places all alone.

    • Keep touts at bay.

    • Keep small currencies – INR 5, INR 10, INR 20, INR 50 and INR 100 handy.

    • Whenever you sit in a public vehicle, turn on your GPS. Know the route and look informed. Do not let the driver believe that you don’t know where you have to go. Get an approximate idea of the fares from the locals or from reliable internet source.

    • Negotiate the fares before sitting.

    • Opt for prepaid vehicles largely.

    • Do not sit in taxis or autos that do not have meters.

    • Dress appropriately. Whether it is a religious place or not, you must wear clothes that are not too skimpy or revealing.

    • Avoid getting over friendly with the strangers.

    • Don’t buy ‘branded’ stuff from the street shops. They are usually fake.

    • Eat at restaurants the locals suggest. Avoid going into empty restaurants.

    • Some places in Mysore may not be inappropriate for a visit by foreigners so avoid those places.

    • Girls must avoid traveling late at night.

    In Karnataka, the excise commissioner regards 18 as the legal drinking age while the deputy commissioner of excise regards 21 as the legal age for drinking. KV Dhananjay, Supreme Court advocate says in case of any discrepancy, the Karnataka Excise Department Act of 1965 is the parent law. This means, any person below the age of 18 should not be served with alcohol in any form.

    Second to Taj Mahal – Mysore Palace
    Taj Mahal is one of the seven wonders of the world. It is situated in Agra and is undoubtedly a very prominent tourist attraction in India. However, Mysore Palace, is not far off as it is only second to Taj Mahal when it comes to its popularity among the tourists. Every year, more than 4 million tourists come and visit this majestic beauty of Mysore. And its time, you too come forth and witness the royal grandeur here. This palace houses within it more than 21 temples. Of these, Lakshmiramana Temple, Someshvara Temple and Shwetha Varahaswamy Temple are particularly known.   
    Karanji Lake
    The majestic 90 acres Karanji Lake is situated on the base of the Chamundi Hills. Constructed by the King of Mysore, it is one of the biggest lakes of Karnataka. The lake can be seen right behind the much popular Mysore Zoo. It encourages migratory birds and over 90 different species of the birds can be found here.  Around the lake, there is a huge picturesque park that has an enclosure for birds. It is believed to the largest of its kind in India. Visiting this place gives you an opportunity to observe the birds from such proximity.   
    Chamundi Hills
    Located 3 km from Mysore, Chamundi Hills lie at a level of 1065 meters above the sea level. On top of the hull lies the 11th century Chamundeshwari temple. This temple was remodeled in the year 1827. Half way up this hill, you’ll find a statue of the bull (Nandi, which has a mythological significance). What’s intriguing about this statue constructed in 1659 is that it is 5 meter tall and has been sculpted out of a single rock. You’ll have to climb 1000 steps to reach the temple.  
    Mysore Zoo
    Prominently referred to as the Mysore Zoo, it is also called as the Shri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens which assures an out of the world experience.  It is one of the oldest zoos in India and was constructed way back in 1892. Spread over a vast area of 250 acres of land, the zoo houses an array of species within it. What’s surprising is that the zoo houses not only the species from India but also from across the globe.  
    Brindavan Gardens 
    Situated below Krishnaraja Sagar dam is the breathtaking Brindavan Gardens. Construction of the garden commenced in the year 1927 however, the garden was completed only in the year 1932. Spread over an area of 150 acres of land, this is one of the best gardens of the country.  The garden has several fountains in different shapes and sizes along with a botanical park. One of the key attractions here is the colorful foundations. Make a visit here post sunset!
