Visit the Edakkal Caves - A Brush with History
These caves are found 1,200 m over the ocean level on Ambukutty Mala. The name "Edakkal" actually signifies 'a stone in the middle'. Edakkal caves are acclaimed for its pictorial paintings (cave paintings), which are thought to be of 6000 B C. To reach the caverns, one needs to trek through the Ambukutty Mala.
